At the beginning of July, I took John for his first pedicure. His heels are in such bad shape that the one pedicure didn't magically make them completely soft. But it did help so I will be taking him for some another pedicure - or three.

I also tackled our pantry. This was the mess before I reorganized it:

And this is after:

The challenge with our pantry is that the shelves are really deep. So it's hard to see what's in the back. So I took some heavy metal baskets, filled them with the heavy stuff like canned goods and stuck them in the back so I don't have to pull the heavy ones in and out. In front of them I put plastic baskets full of lighter stuff like pasta so I could easily pull them out to get to the stuff in the back.

I also used a shelf to raise one basket and add some extra storage space beneath. And got a basket that hangs from the very top shelf that we use for bread.

So far it is so much easier to get stuff and see what we may be out of. I'll probably be adding some labels at some point so John knows what is supposed to be in each basket.

I did get some writing done this month. More on that later.

For August:

1. Relax and enjoy life.

2. Style our mantle.

3. Start a new knitting project.
