No one likes a tease

I teased last week about a new chapter to my iPod drama. Well, friends, I hate to admit it, but I broke my iPod. It was not the iPod this time. It was definitely me.

A few days before Christmas, I'm out for my morning run through our neighborhood. And I always take my iPod out on my runs. Not so much for listening to music since it's dark outside and I prefer to be aware of my surroundings in such situations, but I take it because I like to time how long I'm running. And I lost my arm holder thingie so I have had to carry it in my hand. Anyway, many houses leave their Christmas lights on all night so as I'm running I'm admiring the light displays. The other thing you should know about our neighborhood is that because it's an older area the sidewalk is not consistently even and smooth due to shifts in the earth.

So I'm running, looking at lights, not paying attention to my feet and the sidewalk. Internet, you're not stupid. You know where this is going. I tripped on some raised sidewalk and immediately dropped the iPod and keys that I had in my hands to catch myself.

That drop must have knocked something loose in my iPod because now it's more of a rattler than a device that plays music. And my warranty has expired. Which means it's time for me to plunk down the coin on a new one. But I have to find the money in the budget first. In case you're keeping track, that was my fifth iPod and my third in 2009. May 2010 be a better year for me and, hopefully only one, iPod.

On a completely unrelated note, apparently my balance sucks as my new and awesome Wii Fit often tells me I'm unbalanced and even asks if I have trouble walking without tripping.

My Wii hates me, too, and thinks I'm 65.
And maybe you should invest in one of those Fisher-Price music players. They're designed to be dropped. But you might have to listen to "Frere Jacques."

Oh no! HAHAHAHA! I can't believe, after all this, the final blow was you ;). Maybe the next iPod will be a chance to start over :)
