I swear this is going to be my last post about the house. Well, at least, the buying part of it. But I had to share what I learned today.
Don't believe people when they say closing on a house takes hours. Or that you sign a stack of papers a foot tall. They're lying.
Closing only took an hour. And our stack was only two inches. Of course, we read through the paperwork before we showed up at the title company, which helped as she was going through the paperwork we already had an idea of what it all said and picked up on what we were unsure of quicker.
And DBF is a genius (he told me to write that).
I almost couldn't believe that we own a house. Even when we were sitting in it after we closed and it was officially funded. Now I have to make it through next week before we can move. At least there's a lot to do between now and then. Rehearsal, wedding, packing, cleaning. It's still not going to come fast enough though.
