A Fair Lady

It's State Fair time in Texas. And that means lots of fried food, crowds of people, ridiculously huge prizes and football. If you wait to go on a day over the weekend it'll be hot and crowded. The longer you're there the more money you'll spend too. So I had the brilliant idea to go on a weekday after DBF got off work. Not only was it cooler because the sun soon set after we got there, but because it was Wednesday and we brought 3 canned goods with us, we got in for $1. Seriously. It doesn't get better than that. We only had a few hours before the fair closed but we got to see and eat a lot.

Giant pumpkins with awesome faces carved in them.

Cars. Lots of cars.

Funny signs.

That one says "Parents are responsible for your children."

A giraffe.

Momma and baby camels.

This little zebra who was so adorable.

Kangaroos. This guy was so posing for the camera.

These weird four horned sheep.

And of course, don't forget the food. Above is the chicken fried bacon. It was okay. Could barely taste the bacon which was disappointing.

My friend Liz eating some chicken fried bacon.

A fried snickers bar. Don't scoff. It was frakkin' delicious.

DBF enjoying his turkey leg.

He was so excited about his turkey leg he couldn't even stop to take a picture.

Then the ferris wheel.

We of course took a ride high above the fairgrounds. I so love the fair.
