Strike now affecting next season

Major studios have cancelled a group of writers' development and production agreements, which means the writers' strike is affecting not only this season, but next season's scheduling and shows. January means pilots for the new season are developed and studios order new series. But with the writers not working, scripts are not being written not just for current shows but for new ones.
