Narcissa Malfoy Cast in HBP

It's official...the part of Narcissa Malfoy in the movie adaptation of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince has been cast. Helen McCrory will be playing Bella's little sister. Interestinly, McCrory was originally cast to play Bella but was unable to commit due to her pregnancy. Personally, she doesn't look anything like how I imagine Narcissa - which is a disappointment for me. I am not familiar with her acting skills so she could be brilliant. What do you think?

Also, JK Rowling is up for TIME's person of the year. She's up against Al Gore, Barack Obama, Steve Jobs, Hilary Clinton, Condoleezza Rice, General David Petraeus, Hu Jintao, Vladimir Putin and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. You can click here to vote for her.

I'm trying to stop stressing at work (so many deadlines all coming in this morning for turn around by EOD today!), so I'm taking a break and decided to post about this. I remember Helen McCory from Becoming Jane but not from Casanova (the one with Heath Ledger). Her part in Becoming Jane was short but well done. She played a renown/infamous female writer that Jane admired. McCory does disenchanted/flightly pretty well, which is why I can see her playing the character. But I agree, they better get her a damn good wig, cause I assumed the woman playing Narcissa would be super blonde and she was very very brunette in Becoming Jane

That interesting about the disenchanted/flighty thing. I think that works for Narcissa - particularly considering her role in Deathly Hallows - but don't think that would have been a good direction for Bellatrix had she been able to play that part. Makes me even more glad that role eventually went to Helena.
