Some of you may remember from last year that I was having trouble with my first iPod when the hard drive started to fail and then completely crashed (To catch up, click here, here, here and here). I eventually got a new one and moved on with my life - or so I thought.
Last week I tried to sync my iPod only when I tried to play it the next day, I realized all of my music and podcasts had been wiped off. It was completely blank. I tried restoring it a couple times and iTunes acted as if it was downloading it all back, but still....nothing.
So I go to the Genius Bar at the Apple store and sure enough, they tell me my hard drive is failing. I've had that iPod 13 months!!! Is it any wonder that I can't stand Steven Jobs?
I realize that they have a shelf life and won't last forever. But if I'm to drop $300 on an iPod, I want it to last longer than 13 months! - which incidentally, is just long enough for Apple's warranty to expire!!
At least I bought the extended warranty from Best Buy last year. I only wonder how much longer they're going to offer those on iPods if every year people redeem them.
