How in the world do you get a VW van onto an island in the middle of nowhere? Is there a Volkswagen plant somewhere on the island? Clearly, the van was used for Dharma purposes. Roger the workman was wearing a Dharma uniform. There was Dharma beer in the back. Even on the front of the van was the Dharma logo. The van was probably used to go between the other stations. But this was this season's golf course. It provided the distraction and project that Hurley needed to escape the situation. Not to mention maybe getting him to take a step away from believing in the curse. Although, how can he not be cursed? His restaurant got hit by a meteor or whatever. How is that not bad luck?
I'm going to go out on a limb and say the writers saw Little Miss Sunshine. Pushing the van down the hill to get it started comes right out of the movie. Although, Lost's version was slightly more dramatic.
Sawyer teaching Jin English is hilarious. The three things women need to hear. I guess that's as good a place to start as any. Jin seems to be understanding more, but that also might be that as he becomes more familiar with his fellow Losties he get the meaning from the context. And why is Kate calling Sawyer by his real name? Because she's mad at him? A bit ridiculous IMHO.
Wow - I did not make the connection that Alex might be Rousseau's daughter! That's amazing! (In case you missed it, that's sarcasm folks.)
Return of the Mr. Eye Patch next week! Good.
