My sister didn't like Wicked very much because it changed the way she views the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda. I love those kind of stories. The ones that offer a different perspective on a well known story. What better way is there to realize that maybe people aren't as bad as you originally think? A lot of the time it might be speculation or labels that cause you to think of a certain person one way. It isn't until you know the whole story that you can fully understand the situation and what happened.

So tonight is the night I am going to see Wicked the musical. The book is incredible. It is a tale about the Wicked Witch of the West and how she became wicked. The author Gregory Maguire is incredible in the way he creates a world off of a world based on The Wizard of Oz. His imagination is inspiring. When she dies at the end of the book (via the hands of Dorothy), I felt sorry for her because she was so misunderstood. I felt sympathy for one of the greatest villains ever created in fiction! If nothing else, that makes Maguire an incredible writer. But the way he paints his story is both beautiful and challenging. I have not read his other books Mirror Mirror and Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister. But both of them, along with Wicked's sequel: Son of a Witch, are on my to read list.
